There are moments in rugby clubs that become part of the story forever — and Saturday was one of them for Bonymaen RFC.
Bonymaen RFC were crowned Glamorgan County Silver Ball champions for the very first time after a dramatic 18–16 victory over Tondu RFC, writing a new chapter in the club’s proud history.
In a final packed with intensity, physicality and pressure, Bonymaen showed exactly what this squad has been built on all season — resilience, character and belief. Every player in black and red emptied the tank for the badge, holding off a strong Tondu side to secure a two-point victory.
The achievement carries huge significance for the club, with this being the first time Bonymaen have ever lifted the Glamorgan County Silver Ball in the competition’s long and prestigious history. To finally bring the trophy back to Parc Mawr is a moment that players, coaches and supporters will never forget.
Roared on by a huge travelling Bonymaen support, the atmosphere throughout the day was outstanding. From the first whistle to the final moments, the black and red faithful backed the team relentlessly and played their part in an unforgettable occasion.
The scenes at the final whistle said everything. Players embraced, supporters celebrated as Bonymaen secured one of the greatest achievements in its history.
This victory now sits alongside what has already been an incredible season for the senior men — a group that continues to raise standards and create history for the club.
